Why Driver Training?

There is always the same age-old question..."Why do I need to send my child to a driving school when I have been driving for years?"

Simply put, when you teach your child to drive, they inherit all your bad habits along with the good habits.

Driving is a strange skill. It is something that few of us do very well, however, since we do it every day, we all consider ourselves experts. Even though we all know right from wrong, we would not think of calling ourselves a lawyer without training. Neither would we call ourselves a computer expert because we use a computer at the office every day. However, when it comes to driving, we all (deep down inside) feel that we are better than the average driver out there. The truth is, though, that most of us have not had any formal driver training since we first learned to drive, and most of us have not had any advanced driver training whatsoever. Times have changed; vehicle technologies have advanced; rules and regulations have changed; driving techniques have changed.

Would you want your next-door neighbour to train your child to drive? Those very reasons you said no are probably the same reasons why you should not train your child either. Learning to drive is not a skill set that should be taken lightly and without the help of a professional. Driving is an action that will be performed everyday for most of your childs' life.

Skills, habits and behaviours could be life-saving... or life-threatening.

We are professional driver trainers. We don't just train students to pass the test, we teach them about the deeper skills for driving, awareness, behaviour. We pass on the same skills to your child as we do to our police drivers and performance drivers. We teach them to appreciate driving as a lifelong skill - one that can always be improved. By teaching them all aspects to driving, and giving them the WHY as well as the HOW, means that they treat the act of driving with more respect and are more accurately perceiving risk.

Yes, you can save some money in the short term by training your child yourself, but then lets reframe that... Would you buy your child a bicycle helmet with no chin strap because it was cheaper?
